Actress Han Hyo-joo has made a charitable donation of W30 million (US$1=W1,155).
She donated one-third of the money to buy electric fans and summer blankets for senior citizens who live alone, and gave the rest to support other elderly people in need and abandoned youngsters.
In a handwritten letter, she said she hoped more people participate in helping those in need.

Actress Han Hyo-joo has offered a helping hand for senior citizens who live alone, her agency said on Wednesday.
An official of BH Entertainment told TenAsia over the phone that the actress donated 30,000,000 won (approximately 25,000 US dollars) to a campaign named “Fight Off Heat for Senior Citizens Who Live Alone” (translated title) held by The Beautiful Foundation, which is a foundation that aims to create a just and affluent society.
The actress,who was brought up by her grandparents, even established a “Hyo-joo Fund” in order to add more to the campaign.
The ongoing campaign, held fron June 3 to July 31, provides supplies, such as fans and sheets, for seniors who live alone. The campaign was first held last summer.
Meanwhile, Han’s new highly-anticipated thriller film “Cold Eyes,” also starring Seol Kyung-gu, Jung Woo-sung, Han Hyo-joo and 2PM’s JUNHO, is set for a release in Korean theaters on July 4.
