news : [2013] Cold Eyes For a Hot Summer – han hyo joo

Listed as one of our most hotly anticipated films of 2013 and definitely getting positive treatment from netizens, comes the trailer for this summers “Cold Eyes 감시자들”.

As mentioned back in 2012 this film may change titles and it seems to have landed the name “Cold Eyes” rather than its working title name “Stake Out” which just happens to be the literal translation of its Korean title, 감시자들 (gam-si-ja-deul).

Directed by JOH Ui -Seok 조의석 who made a big name for himself in Korea with his breakout film Make it Big일단 뛰어! (2002) and The World of Silence 조용한 세상 (2006), this is his first film back in 7 years.  He was greatly praised for his ability to concentrate on character development and that alone should be something to look forward to. The film is also co-directed by Kim Byeong-seo 김병서 who makes his first big film debut in the directors chair.

Need some star power? It doesn’t get much bigger than JUNG Woo-Seong 정우성(MUSA 무사 2001, The Good, the Bad, the Weird (좋은 놈, 나쁜 놈, 이상한 놈 2008) and SEOL Kyeong-Gu 설경구 who appeared in the 2012 christmas hit, The Tower 타워and then throw in HAN Hyo-joo 한효주 (Love 911 반창꼬, Masquerade 광해: 왕이 된 남자 2012) and Junho 준호 (of 2PM fame) for new wave talent and eye candy  and you’ve got yourself a super star team of actors with a potential blockbuster.

After joining the surveillance unit within the Korean Police Forces Special Crimes Department, HA Yoon Ju (HAN Hyo-joo) teams up with HWANG Sang-Jun (SEOL Kyeong-Gu), a veteran within the unit in an effort to track down James (JUNG Woo-Seong), the lethal leader of a top criminal organization.

Cold Eyes 감시자들 will be released nation wide in the ROK this summer July 4th 2013.
